| Description: |
This fabulous Pin/Pendant was made in
1987. It is in remarkable condition, and was obviously worn only on a
rare occasion. An early, more simple variation of this design was one of
the stunning masks portrayed in the Wallace's 1985 belt entitled "Mask
Belt I". This example, made two years later, is a completely handmade
piece with the design in its fully-developed form. We know of one other
instance where the Wallaces made a piece very similar to this - it is
the center-piece in a three-figure belt. The mask and outer hoops are
all Sterling Silver, the eyes are beads of Fossilized Mammoth Tusk
Ivory, while the Labrets are made from Fossilized Walrus Tusk. This is a
truly rare find we are pleased to offer here.
Reverse is stamped/engraved: "dw
